Cardinal is a leading provider of investment capital in the Irish market, with a specialist focus on mid-market private equity and real estate. Established in 2003, the Cardinal team have a multi sector focus, investing in businesses and financing real estate projects, supporting and driving growth across all aspects of the Irish economy.

Wove were engaged to facilitate a strategic reflection – to underpin a rebrand and new website for Cardinal.

Embedding a process of co-design from the outset, we conducted interviews and surveys of the Cardinal team – and shared our findings.

We continued with a series of group workshops, creating space for the team to explore, pull apart, and gain clarity on the impact and value of their work.

We translated this work into a set of pillars that underpinned their culture and decision-making process. Ownership of this model was shared across the team through their involvement at each step of the process.

By engaging in the workshop process, the Cardinal team aligned their understanding of the organisation’s value and the role each person played in it. We defined a set of pillars and communicated this across the team.

A common language and clarity of intent aligned the two distinct sides of Cardinal’s business. The strategic pillars also provided a clear brief and approach for the rebranding and website design later undertaken by aad.
